Aren't they pretty?!
I think most women have a thing about shoes, I read somewhere that it's because shoes always fit and are therefore a satisfying buy, it doesn't matter if you have just gained a few pounds, your shoe size doesn't change. But that's not why I love shoes.
Just last week a childhood friend of mine reminded me of a pair of boots I had when I was about 16. I got them from a friend of mine who had bought them at a flea market in Paris, I gave her a pair of my shoes and a pair of trousers in exchange for them, and these boots have determined my taste until this day. I don't remember exactly how long they lasted, but I know I wore them almost every day unless they had to spend some time at the shoemaker's to get fixed. But one day Mr. shoemaker said "sorry, I cannot fix them anymore" and I had to finally let go. This is actually when I met Thomas, the childhood friend I mentioned, and he did remember how sad I was. So since this day I am always on the look out for a pair of boots that are similar and I have had many pairs over the years, always wearing them until they couldn't be fixed anymore (I still have to get rid of the last pair which has a whole on top and is quite useless when it's raining, although I still wore them until 2 weeks ago - I couldn't let go!).
That's why I got very excited when I saw these boots in Brown Thomas 2 weeks ago, but because they were a bit pricey I didn't buy them at first...but I thought of them every day! And I knew I had to get back to take a second look, which I did last Sunday, and oh, they were as lovely as I remembered them, so I couldn't help it, and here they are, on my feet, all comfy and nice and so me! I promise I'll take good care of them and hope they'll last for many many years!
